Ryan Panian

Ryan Panian was molded by the frigid northern climes of St. John's, Oregon. As a youth, he studied art in the friendly halls of various asylums, bar bathrooms, freeway underpasses, and, one time, briefly, an apple store. His experience includes more than 17 years in the body art industry; including 10 years as a piercer, 8 as a tattooer, 4 as an amateur taxidermist, 6 in entomological specimen preparation, and, most recently, 2 years in the field of giant lizard training. He credits his unique style of artmaking to the thorough study of scientific materials, a way to better gain an understanding of both form and structure. Also, meriting mention, is his thorough exploration of various psychedelic aids as a way to uncover a most intimate visual expression in his designs. In his free time, he enjoys brief walks with his Tegu, collecting biological debris, scraping glass with diamonds, and spending time with his son, who hates tattoos. We're not sure what that's about.
